Transformation of collective housing: towards autonomy and deinstitutionalization of people experiencing homelessness

Shelters, reception centers and temporary housing must be a last resort for short stays when people cannot access a personalized solution based on direct access to housing. However, from this position, they should play an important role in supporting the exercise of citizenship and autonomy of people who are trying to get out of this situation.

Therefore, the report "Transformation of collective housing: towards autonomy and deinstitutionalization of homeless people" aims to serve as a practical guide to carry out a progressive transformation of these institutions, providing examples and tools to make these changes effective.

This report has been prepared in the context of the social innovation program Housing Rights of Provivienda and HOGAR SÍ, financed by the European funds Next Generation EU of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, through the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 2030.
