The Housing School incorporates new training courses before the start of summer

The free training platform launched by HOGAR SÍ and Provivienda, Escuela Housing, continues its purpose of transforming homelessness care through the learning and knowledge acquired in the Housing Rights and H4Y FUTURO programs. Both social innovation projects receive funding from the European Next Generation funds of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, through the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 2030.

The main objective of the Housing School is to transcend the Housing First and Housing Led models, offering support strategies that promote autonomy and community life for people experiencing homelessness. In addition, the success of the project results is allowing the creation of knowledge and methodology transfer workshops with public administrations, as recently occurred in Madrid with the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 2030, as well as in Seville with the Junta de Andalucía and the City Council of Seville, among others.

The Escuela Housing catalog has recently incorporated two new courses, which, like the rest of the training courses, have a duration of approximately 6 hours and the option of obtaining a certificate upon completion. The new courses cover essential topics in this field:

  • Fundamental principles for homelessness care from innovation and deinstitutionalization.
  • Care approach based on the accompaniment of trauma and stressful life situations.

International webinar series on homelessness

As part of the knowledge exchange actions that we are developing from HOGAR SÍ and Provivienda, we have launched a series of international webinars on solutions to homelessness. Together with guests such as Margarita Guerrero, general director of Injuve, and organizations such as A Way Home Canada, FEANTSA, IGH (Institute of Global Homelessness) and CRISIS UK, to discuss youth homelessness and public policies related to homelessness. Registration is open at this link to the form. Simultaneous English-Spanish translation will be available for both webinars.

  • June 25: Housing First for Youth: international experiences addressing youth homelessness
  • July 9: Transforming Homelessness Policies: towards early intervention and rapid rehousing. (Transforming Homelessness Policies: towards early intervention and rapid rehousing.)

For those interested in following the new training proposals and the progress of the platform, it is recommended to complete the registration in the Housing School, where you will also find all the information. As part of the community, you will receive news about updates and new horizons of this training strategy to end homelessness.
